Cox Custom Knives - Mayfly Forge

I’m James, and I’m a bladesmith living in the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas.

I work primarily with high carbon tool steels, such as W2, L6, 52100, O1, CruForgeV, etc. I hand forge almost everything, as I don’t have a power hammer or forging press.

I have one grinder, a KMG, one anvil, a Civil War era Fisher, 184 pounds. I rely extensively on hand tools, especially files.

Recently, I have started making folding knives and some stock removal type knives. I have also used rare, difficult to use “super” steels such as Vanadis 4 Extra.
